Sweet Pea's Story
Sweetpea
Est DOB: 2018
Sex: Female

Before coming into foster care, Sweet Pea spent her life living in a cat colony in alongside her mom, Ava. She also arrived with significant dental issues and has since had most of her teeth removed, but she is healing beautifully, eating well (currently enjoying soft food), and has handled everything like a little trooper.

Since arriving in foster care, Sweet Pea has shown just how much love she has to give. While she was initially nervous and preferred to stay hidden, it didn’t take long for her to realize she was safe. Now, she comes for pets, gives head bumps, rubs against her people, and purrs loudly — especially when it’s breakfast time.

She absolutely adores affection and wants to be close to her people. She is not yet comfortable being picked up and can startle with sudden movements or a hand reaching too quickly above her, so a calm, gentle approach and patience are important as she continues to build trust. Once reassured, she settles quickly back into her affectionate self, and her confidence continues to grow every day.

Sweet Pea is also beginning to discover the joy of play. She enjoys the ball tower, plastic springs, and rainbow wand toy, and it has been so special to watch her explore this side of herself. She also has impeccable litter box manners — in fact, she takes her job very seriously and often builds little “mountains” of litter to make sure everything is perfectly covered.

Sweet Pea shares a close relationship with her mom, Ava. The two often cuddle and groom each other, and Ava helps give Sweet Pea confidence. For this reason, Sweet Pea would ideally be adopted with Ava, or into a home with a friendly, confident cat who can help her continue to feel safe and supported.

After spending her whole life outdoors, Sweet Pea is more than ready for a calm, loving indoor home. She would thrive with someone patient and understanding who will give her the time and gentle encouragement she needs. In return, she will reward her new family with quiet companionship, sweet affection, and the beautiful transformation of a once-outdoor kitty blossoming into a confident indoor companion.

Sweet Pea is a deeply affectionate, resilient girl who has been through a lot and is now learning what it means to feel safe. She is going to be a very special cat for someone who sees her heart and gives her the time she needs to fully shine.

Location: Foster Home-Surrey

FILL OUT AN APPLICATION HERE-
www.cattherapyandrescue.com/adopt/
