Suzie's Story

Suzie & Johnny Red: A Special Bond & A Beautiful Journey
There is something incredibly moving about watching a cat go from "fearful" to "friend," and if you're the kind of person who finds joy in slow, quiet wins, Suzie and Johnny Red are waiting for you. This stunning orange tabby duo--2-year-old mom Suzie and her 1.5-year-old son Johnny Red--came to us as former strays. Because they've spent their lives leaning on one another for courage, they are a bonded pair who must stay together. Johnny Red is the "brave explorer" of the two, now happily accepting pets and hanging out on the floor with volunteers. Suzie is a bit more of a "wallflower" who is still working through her nerves; she's a gentle soul looking for a patient, experienced heart to help her realize just how brave she can be. The ideal home for this special duo is a calm, predictable sanctuary where they can blossom at their own pace without the bustle of dogs or children under 12. A dream come true would be a family with experience helping shy cats, perhaps with a laid-back resident kitty to show them the ropes of "house cat" life. More than anything, Suzie and Johnny Red are looking for a "labor of love" family--the kind of people who will truly celebrate the small victories, like the first time Suzie doesn't hide when you walk in or the first time Johnny Red lets out a happy purr. If you have a quiet home and a big space in your heart for a beautiful work-in-progress, these two are ready to start their next chapter with you. Their combined adoption fee is $450.

*To visit our cats, you must make an appointment on-line at www.caringforcatsmn.org/adopt.*

Note: While we are happy to respond to your questions about any of our cats, you will still be required to make an on-line appointment at www.caringforcatsmn.org/adopt if you wish to meet our cats. Once you have a confirmed appointment, you can monitor the adoption appointment calendar and move your appointment to an earlier opening should one become available. We are not able to contact you to switch your appointment.

Stay up-to-date with all events and happenings at Caring for Cats!
