Super Manx Bros - Zipper & Velcro's Story

Meet Zipper and Velcro, bonded Manx brothers!

I pulled Zipper and Velcro from a local shelter before they could be euthanized. They were scheduled for euthanasia because they are incontinent, and the shelter and their partners do not/cannot help these special needs cats.

Both boys were in rough shape. With treatment, a diet change and time, they are now much healthier, though their special needs remain.

Velcro is an 11-month-old gray-and-white medium-hair tabby Manx, with no tail at all and a stunning, expressive face.

Velcro is fully incontinent, both bladder and bowel. Managing his care takes patience and routine — but Velcro gives that effort back tenfold in love.

He loves chin and cheek scratches, enjoys being held and brushed, and knows exactly when it’s time to be picked up — turning around so his caregiver can wrap his booty before scooping him up. He’s playful, curious with strangers, and greets the world with the cutest little “short meow.” Velcro gets along with other cats and dogs and is deeply bonded to his brother.

Zipper, also 11 months old, is a beautiful gray-and-white short-hair Manx, smaller in size and completely tailless. He hops like a bunny — and it’s as charming as it sounds.

Zipper can be shy at first, but he’s very curious and warms up quickly. He loves being held, brushed, and cuddled. He’s playful, gentle, and smart. He has an adorable squeaky voice, purrs easily, and does well with other cats and dogs. He is a bit bladder incontinent and sometimes messy BUT uses the litter box.

Their ideal home:

• Someone who loves quirky cats

• Experience with or willingness to learn incontinence care

• Time, patience, routine, and compassion

• Financial flexibility for ongoing care

• A commitment to see who they are, not just what makes them different

These boys have already endured so much — all before their first birthday. What they need now is stability, understanding, and a family that won’t give up on them.

They are joyful. Loving.
