Sunshine's Story

Sunshine is our rare, radiant orange girl. Radiant in how playful she is and how much love she has to give. Rare in that most orange cats are boys but also because she's brilliant (unlike the stereotype of orange cats having one brain cell). She figured out how to rattle doorknobs enough inside our house that we keep finding her hanging out in rooms where we don't expect her.

She's taken great care of her two gorgeous kids Lil Lady and Mochi, but honestly? She's thrilled about having her own independence now, and being comfy without little paws stepping on her.

Sunshine has the most graceful jump I've ever seen and is incredibly dextrous in general. She also gives the best slow blinks. She also might be part meerkat with how she stands on her hind legs to rub her head into your hand.

She also loves watching birds. A bird feeder is what she wants as her Christmas gift.

She is mostly laid back but does get zoomies and will play on her own and with other cats. We have just discovered that she LOVES spring toys and gets very goofy around them.

We could see her being happy as an only cat OR with a cat buddy. We have not tested her with dogs.

If you'd like to meet our sweet Sunshine, see our adoption process below:

1) Fill out the adoption application at https://friendsofelines.org/adopt
2) Meet with the cat in their foster home
3) If you and the cat are a match then we will set a take home date 1-7 days after the meeting depending on schedules.

All cats and kittens adopted through Friends of Felines are spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on FVRCP vaccinations and rabies shots.

** We are not able to hold cats for a particular family longer than about 7 days, unless the cat is available for pre-adoption which will be noted on their profile. Please wait to apply until you are ready to take a cat home. **

We are a completely foster-based nonprofit rescue run by volunteers. We do this work out of love <3
