Summer's Story

Gender: Female
Colour: Orange tabby
Date of Birth: July 13, 2023

Meet Summer!

Summer is a beautiful, calm gentle soul who came into foster care with her babies. It is unknown what led to her being homeless or how long she had been outside, but it has undoubtedly been a rough journey for her. Behind those sad eyes is a girl who very much wants to believe she could truly have a future of warmth, security and unconditional love.

She is a doting mama to her kittens Nikki, Biscuit and Albert and now that the hard work is done she joins in their play. She'd be thrilled if she happened to get the chance to join one of her kittens in adoption as they'd help her continue gaining confidence in her newfound role of spoiled house cat.

She's a good eater and treats are definitely the way to her heart. Summer is a fan of window watching and high perches. She is a chatty girl and whatever she is doing, she prefers to have company, be it feline or human.

Summer readily made friends with her younger foster brother and respects her senior foster siste's desire for space, so is likely to do well with other cats. Due to her experiences with tom cats however, she may be less intimated by a roomie who is small, female or senior.

Summer seems happy to be indoors but after her ordeal, it has been a slow process feeling safe. She is beginning to trust her foster family and wants to be where they are, but she is still very cautious when being approached. She now enjoys pets and head scratches but does not yet feel safe being picked up or handled.

Summer is looking for a quiet, predictable, patient home who will understand she will be shy when they meet and it is going to take her awhile to feel confident. She is hoping her special someone will meet her where she's at, be loyal, sensitive to her needs and pamper her like she deserves for the rest of her long life.

Summer had a full checkup with the vet and seems to be a healthy girl. Summer has a bony protrusion around her ribs that can be felt but not seen. It's unknown if this resulted from trauma or was congenital but regardless, the vet said it does not bother her and no treatment is needed.

Location: Kitchener, ON.
Adoption Fee: $275
To meet and adopt this cat, apply at the link below:
https://tinyurl.com/AARApplyNow

Thank you for considering adopting through Arthur Animal Rescue! We are a small rescue comprised of caring foster homes throughout Center and North Wellington (Arthur, Mount Forest, Fergus, Elora and surrounding areas). If you see a cat or kitten on our site and would like to learn more about any of them please feel free to send us a message. If you would like to meet any of our adoptable pets in person, submit an adoption application and we can arrange a time for you to meet which is convenient to you and the foster home. In the event that multiple applications are received for a cat or kitten in our rescue, we will review each one and make the best decision based on fit for both the cat or kitten, and their forever family. The adoption fee includes the cost of the spay or neuter surgery as well as first vaccinations. The cats and kittens are also dewormed and receive revolution treatment whenever necessary. We also provide info on preparing for a new feline family member to help with the transition to their new homes. And offer ongoing support or advice after the adoption has taken place! If you have questions at all please feel free to contact us!
