Summer's Story

Summer is a big-hearted girl with a sweet and loving nature. She was found as a pregnant stray, and after caring for her kittens (who have all found their forever homes), it’s now her turn to find a loving family. Summer is a gentle and affectionate cat, though she has a limited time frame for being held—she’s independent and enjoys her space, but will happily cuddle and purr in your lap once she’s comfortable. While Summer does not get along well with other cats, she does love cat-friendly dogs, making her an ideal companion for a multi-pet home. She’s a wonderful blend of cuddly and independent, making her a great addition to any household that’s ready to welcome her in. She has been spayed, up to date with vaccines including boosters, rabies, tested negative for FelV/FIV and microchipped.<br/><br/>Note: To adopt, you must live within approximately 100 miles of one of our adoption sites (Benld or Springfield IL), and be at least 18 years of age.

Benld Adopt-A-Pet's Adoption Policy

To adopt you must live within 100 miles of one of our adoption sites (Benld, O’Fallon or Springfield IL), and be at least 18 years of age. We require that you be physically present to make the final adoption arrangements. We also require that all cats be kept indoors, and that all dogs be kept or live indoors, with a secure fenced-in yard or pen for when they are outside, unless otherwise discussed and mutually agreed upon ahead of time. Failure to comply with any of these requirements may constitute sufficient grounds for our reclaiming the adopted animal. In order to adopt, you must first complete an Adoption Inquiry, and upon approval, an Adoption Agreement.
