Sully's Story

Sully is a big handsome Heartbreaker boy who was recently rescued and became a member of the Healing Animal SCARS - Sonya's Cat rescue group .
Here is his biography, written by his rescuer and foster mom Julie Clarke
"Meet Sully 💛
Sully first appeared at a maintained feral cat feeding station in Burnside on January 21, 2025. His stunning classic swirl tabby coat immediately caught the eye of his feeder. New cats occasionally wander through, but without a “passport,” we’ll never know how Sully found his way there. With no ear tip in sight, he remained a mystery as he appeared sporadically on the trail cam over the following months.
Food wasn’t always easy to come by. Raccoons often beat him to meals, dining and dashing before he had a chance. As winter turned to spring, Sully began visiting more regularly, making it easier to predict his schedule. The first trapping attempt didn’t go as planned—he arrived early and was startled just as the trap was being set. For a survival-savvy, skittish cat, that was enough to keep him away for four long weeks.
He disappeared again at the end of June and wasn’t seen until November 2025.
With raccoons less active and winter settling in, a hungry Sully returned for reliable meals. He survived thanks to the shelters and food provided, and by early February 2026 with milder weather arriving, he was visiting multiple times a day. On February 3rd, Sully’s days of living outside finally came to an end.
In the trap, he was calm—offering slow blinks that said everything. It was clear he wasn’t feral. While there was immense relief in getting him safe and warm, there was also heartbreak knowing this friendly boy had been surviving on his own for nearly a year.
Now safe indoors, Sully is soaking up every bit of comfort. He’s approximately 2 years old, with a rich dark brown tabby coat highlighted by grey and caramel swirls, and striking black feet and tail. He’s a handsome, classic tabby through and through.
Sully loves food, cozy beds, and batting around a kickstick toy. He’s generally a chill, laid-back guy but will happily play when encouraged. One of his sweetest habits is gently pressing his head against yours for affection. He’s very clean, quiet, and enjoys lounging nearby.
Sully will need a little time to adjust to a new environment, as he’s still learning the ropes of indoor life. A calm, quiet home without small children would suit him best. He may do well with a younger, respectful cat, but he’s also perfectly content being your one-and-only laid-back companion.
After a year of surviving on the streets, Sully is more than ready for a soft landing and a forever family to call his own. 🐾"
If you are interested in adopting him, please fill out the application here. Call your veterinarian to give them permission for us to check your history. Then call me at 902-469-6369 to review the application. He must be an indoor cat.
https://form.jotform.com/253147573793063

He has been tested for Feline Leukemia, FIV and Heartworm. He has already had his 1st vaccines, and we will include his 2nd vaccines when they are due soon. He has been neutered, and microchipped. The adoption fee is only $275.
He must be an indoor cat

Healing Animal SCARS - Sonya's Cat & Animal Rescue Society's Adoption Policy
In order to be considered for adoption, you must call Sonya at 902-469-6369 for a discussion to see if you may be a potential fit for one of our adoptable cats or kittens. Then email katsonya@accesswave.ca for an application and call your vet to give them permission to discuss your history with us. We request a donation of $275 for a cat that has been tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV, vaccinated twice, spayed or neutered, treated for parasites and microchipped. We request an adoption fee of $350 for a kitten. Kittens are tested for Feline Leukemia, as they cannot be tested for FIV until they are 6 months old, so we generally rely on the mother cat's test result for FIV. Kittens are fully vaccinated three times, spayed or neutered and microchipped, as well as treated for parasites and any existing illnesses or injuries.
