Sugar Bear's Story
Sugar Bear has been making lots of progress in his foster home!

It’s not often we see an indoor cat so under socialized and shut down for this long. We suspect he was used for breeding before being dumped and didn’t have much (or not the nicest) human interaction. Too many backyard breeders see these cats as disposable and nothing more than an easy way to make money.

Luckily Sugar Bear found a foster home that sees his worth. We are so grateful for Julianne and Dino for putting in all the work to help the poor guy gain some much needed confidence. Before he stuck to hiding in his hut cowering. He wouldn’t even look at a churu. He still hides in his little hut when they come in the room, but he’s slowly been coming out to eat and getting all the churus! They even got some purrs, which any foster of a scared kitty will tell you is the best noise!

Sugar Bear will need a quieter home with people willing to put in the effort and time needed to help him realize life with humans isn’t scary. We believe he’s about 1 1/2 years old. He would benefit from a confident kitty or two in the home. Excited dogs and younger kids may be too much at this time.

He has so much potential and I promise you there will be nothing more rewarding than seeing him go from a scared boy to a more confident cat!

We are accepting applications for him now to get the ball rolling. We know it may not be easy to find a home he will thrive in. I would love for him to get to go to forever and start the process of settling in, sooner than later.

If interested in giving Sugar Bear the chance he deserved from the start, please fill out an application!

www.saltyanimalrescue.com/adopt
