Stubby's Story

Meet Stubby — The Tough Little Traveler with a Heart of Gold

Stubby is the definition of a comeback cat. Once found in Loa, Utah, thin, frostbitten, and missing part of his tail and ear, this resilient boy never gave up. With a lot of care and love, Stubby transformed into a healthy, confident, and affectionate companion who’s ready for his next great adventure.

At about ten or eleven years old, Stubby is a laid-back guy who loves to relax, cuddle, and keep you company. He’s a seasoned traveler who’s been from Oregon to Baja and everywhere in between, proving he’s as adaptable as they come. He’s even generous enough to share his humans with dogs — he’s lived happily alongside both cats and pups, and even snuggled up with a dachshund during one of his road trips.

Stubby’s short tail has a personality of its own, often quivering or wagging when he’s happy. He’s entertaining, affectionate, and easy to love — the perfect mix of charm and character.

He’s current on all his veterinary care, eats well, and doesn’t require any special diet. Stubby is ready to find a cozy home (or maybe another van) where he can share his love and his signature tail wiggle.

Originally adopted by one of our long-time volunteers, Stubby’s life has been full of love, travel, and companionship. After his beloved owner passed away, this adaptable boy made his way back to us — ready to find a new co-pilot for life’s next great adventure.

Adopt Stubby — a one-of-a-kind traveler who’s proof that even the roughest beginnings can lead to the sweetest journeys.
