Stubby's Story

Though Stubby had a less than stellar start in life, he has come through to be a healthy, fun-loving cat with a compelling personality. He was
found in Loa, emaciated, frostbitten, mite infested, with part of his tail and ear missing and a too-tight collar around his neck. When brought into CCAW’s foster care, he was too weak to jump onto a low platform to eat, so had to be fed on the ground. He was doctored, nursed and loved by a wonderful foster mom until he was adopted by a long-term CCAW volunteer.

Stubby is ten or eleven years old. In July he moved to Oregon with his dad and buddies Cosmo (cat) and Zepher (dog). Though he had no experience besides a few trips to the grocery store and vet, he handled the trip to Oregon in the van easily. He adjusted to life in his new home easily.

After his owner's sudden passing in late
October, he traveled back to Utah in the van again with buddy Cosmo. He wore a harnesses and leashes while traveling in the van and was put into a carrier only when necessary (rarely).

Stubby and Cosmo spent a night with a kind foster friend in Salt Lake City for a
night on the way to CCAW. Stubby got along well with his host and his little daschund, Mabel, even getting into bed with them and causing no trouble.

Stubby is obviously an adaptable little fellow who loves attention. He’s very entertaining with his funny little tail wagging and quivering. He gets along with other cats and dogs and has no special dietary requirements. He has been kept
current with all his vaccinations and veterinary care.
