AVAILABLE LONG TERM RESIDENT Updated 1-5-2026 Beautiful Stuart! Once known as the shy guy, this beautiful boy has decided it is better to greet everyone and get attention! In his comfort zone that is. Stuart is in a free roaming room where he has gotten comfortable, made a few friends, and gets along with the others in his room (currently all girls). Once he adjusted, he became quite the happy camper and loves being petted. He isn't used to being picked up and carried around but loves to be around. Stuart is 6 years old and has been with us since he was a baby. He is very sweet and friendly, and looking for a calm adult home where he can relax and be loved. C.A.R.A (Citizens for Animal Rescue and Adoption)'s Adoption Policy

Please email citizensanimalrescue@gmail.com for an application or use our online link. Once an application is approved you will be contacted to set up an appointment to visit the animals. If you let us know what you have in mind (age, gender, personality), we'll have several ready to meet. We are open to the public Monday-Friday 1-4PM and Saturday/other times by appointment. Please call 217-655-4353 or 217-799-8858 for appointments and questions. After you've met and decided on the pet for you, you will fill out the final paperwork and you will be able to take your pet home. All adopters must be able to meet and pick up their pet as we do not offer transportation. All pets are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.

C.A.R.A. is a 501(c)3 non-for-profit, No Kill animal shelter and rescue for homeless, injured/neglected or surrendered animals. Through community donations we are able to provide high quality care and rehabilitation for animals in our care.
