Stripes's Story

Stripes is a spunky, goofy little thief who loves playing and cannot control herself around dangling sleeves, feet-under-the-covers, or anything that moves. This week she has stolen my watch off its charger, knocked over my extra monitor, and extended the time it took me to change shirts from 5 seconds to 5 minutes. She will do all these annoying things and you can't even be mad about it because she's adorable and snuggly. Stripes does have some allergy that causes her to scratch and over-groom. It's likely food-related but not severe. She LOVES her adoptive brother Snowball and really wants to go home with him so they can continue being little tyrants together. Both Stripes and Snowball tested positive for FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus) shortly after intake. They will be confirmation tested soon to rule out a false positive, but it's very likely that they are truly FeLV positive cats. This may shorten their lives and make monitoring their health more of a priority than other cats, but they are happy, joyful, mischevious kittens right now that have no idea there is anything wrong. They need a patient home with a good sense of humor. Someone who will keep working with them to teach them the rules of the house, gently. She does play bite and scratch like most kittens her age, so it's not advisable for her to go to a home that behavior could put her or others at risk.

When some one expresses interest in a pet we have listed, we will ask that they complete an adoption application. If that looks good, we will set up a virtual meeting & home visit to discuss their expectations and to see that the home/living space is acceptable for the pet in question. Once those are complete, we will check vet and personal references. If everything lines up, we'll move forward with the adoption.
