Stream's Story

Stream is #ADOPTABLE from her foster home in Nanaimo

Female, domestic short hair, black

She’s a little round cat, with big round yellow eyes, and a little short tail that doesn’t quit. Her soft black fur has a sprinkling of little random white hairs which you can only see when she’s showing you her increasing lack of respect for your personal space. Her eyes don’t actually glow, but you’ll never fully stop wondering if they do. She’s been coming out of her shell and proving to be quite a lovely little nut. She’s Stream.

Stream is a playful, curious young cat. She likes bouncing after toys like a bunny, and stalking wand toys that move along the ground like they’re alive. She likes tunnels and cubes and things she can chase. She would like things she can climb, and cat TV, and windows with lots of action outside. She’s honestly a huge fan of all the things that come with being an indoor cat.

Stream has shown that she really responds to routine and during her time in foster, part of that was spent on her foster mum’s lap during reading time. She would really love to live with a reader (or a TV watcher. Anything that produces a lap and leaves a hand free for pets) She will happily join you on your lap and soak up all the pets, while you enjoy her biscuit making and purrs, and drawing designs in her fur.

A little Churu (or freeze dried chicken, wow!) to sweeten the deal might lead to a wonderful friendship with Stream. She is also a fan of snuggling into blankets over your legs. She doesn’t so much love being picked up and squished at this point in her life, but lap time is lovely (once she gets to know you) and she loves brushing, allows nail trims, all the things when she’s used to you and relaxed.

She would like a very high sided litter box. No, not that one… the HIGH sided one. She tends to be….vigourous….with her litter habits, but in foster that was quickly solved with a high box and we never looked back.

Stream has come a very long way from the shy, nervous cat she was. While she can still be a little shy (She will hide… that’s her go-to move when a bit spooked) she has shown that she is 100% able to give and receive love and enjoy the cushier parts of indoor life. Because of her shyness, a quieter home would be best for her, and she’d have her best chance if set up in her own room to start with. This will let her new humans get to know her without having to chase her, or look for her if she gets nervous while adjusting. While she might need a bit of extra time and patience in the beginning, this little nut will steal your heart and be an amazing addition to your home.

Reading the “Rule of Three” document included with the adoption resources will help you help Stream settle in.

Ideal Home:
Stream would do best in a quieter home with someone who is patient, enjoys routine and LOVES to read. If this sounds like you, come meet Stream. She is great friends with her sister (River) who is in foster with her. A double adoption with her sister River would be great for both of them

Compatibility
Cats and Dogs: Stream has shown calm and respectful curiosity when meeting the resident small dog and cats in her foster home. She is persistent, but not overbearing. She is great friends with her sister (River) who is in foster with her.
Kids: Older cat savvy teens can be considered for Stream. Young children are not a good fit for Stream

Age
Estimated age: 1 1/2 years

Veterinary Information
• Stream has been spayed
• Vaccinated for FVRCP and Feline Leukemia
• Microchipped
• Deflead and dewormed
• Six weeks of pet insurance
• Health record card
• Specific diagnostic testing may also have been done as each cat's health may warrant while in CatNap's care. Should you wish to have more detailed information before submitting an application, please contact adoptions@catnapsociety.com

CatNap's Adoption Fee for Stream is $375

The store manager will handle all aspects of the adoption process on CatNap’s behalf.

Please note: Only in person applications are accepted

ONLY APPROVED APPLICANTS WILL BE CONTACTED
