STITCH's Story

Stitch has been quite the boy — a little like Ronda Rousey in his own way, if you remember her. But once again, none of this is his fault. ?? Stitch was surrendered on 9/16/25 after something incredibly traumatic. His owner passed away in the home — in front of him and his feline housemate. His housemate has since been adopted, but Stitch is still waiting. Much of that wait has been due to how overwhelming the shelter environment was for him. In the shelter, Stitch understandably went into full “lion mode.” Cats who experience trauma and sudden change often become defensive in environments where they feel unsafe. The same can happen in homes when they are not given enough time to decompress. Thankfully, Stitch’s current foster has been giving him exactly what he needed — time, patience, and space. With plenty of quiet time to realize he is safe, Stitch has begun to show who he truly is. Once he trusts you, Stitch is shy but incredibly sweet. He would do best in a home with someone who understands cats and is willing to give him the time he needs to adjust. With patience and understanding, Stitch has every chance to become a loving and loyal companion again. All he needs... is someone willing to give him that chance. ??
