Steve's Story

Steve and brother Martin were rescued from a community cat colony at 8-weeks-old. Steve is now 3 months old and ready for his forever home! While he can be adopted with his brother, it is not required.

Steve is neutered, dewormed, utd on vaccines and is litter-box trained.

Are you the kind of person who finds joy in gaining an animal's trust? I am! That is why I am very fond of Steve.

Steve LOVES to play, especially with wand toys. Steve plays until he pants! He is very food motivated as well! I gained his trust by feeding him on my lap. He gets excited now when he sees me and when I bring out the wet food can.

I can pick Steve up and he has recently started to purr for me! He even started purring for my daughter, which was a huge win for him!

I will say he would likely do better in a quieter household, although I suspect he will enjoy a little chaos after he gets comfortable. :) I highly recommend being able to set up a room for him just for Steve initially. I follow a 3/3/3 rule - 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks for personality to develop, and 3 months to be fully confident and comfortable (sometimes it takes longer).

Steve is not aggressive. He is not mean. He is learning how to trust and I really admire how he has worked so hard to be brave.

Steve has met my older cat and did fine, and he was nervous about my older dog so I will work with him more on being comfortable around dogs. He would likely do fine with a calmer, older dog. He would do best with older children.
