I spent time surviving as a stray and had a rough period outdoors that left me injured and severely underweight. I was initially too scared to trust people, but with patience, plenty of food, and the freedom to come around on my own terms, I eventually decided indoor life was worth trying. <br/><br/>Turns out, I was right.<br/><br/>These days, I am fully retired from the outdoor lifestyle. I'm a lover, not a fighter, and I have absolutely no interest in returning outdoors to street-cat drama. I'm an easygoing, low-key guy whose ideal day is pretty simple: eat, play, cuddle, sleep, repeat. I love curling up next to my favorite people on the couch, following them from room to room, and eventually making biscuits once I've decided they're officially my person.<br/><br/>I love playing with string toys, toy mice, and hair ties. Sometimes I'll even carry my favorite string toy over to you when I've decided it's time for you to participate. I'm also not shy about pawing at you when I want food, attention, or playtime.<br/><br/>Speaking of food: I am extremely food motivated. In fact, I may occasionally attempt to convince you that I have never been fed in my entire life-even if you personally watched me eat 20 minutes ago. I'm also quite chatty when I believe it's mealtime, so you'll always know when I feel the kitchen should be open.<br/><br/>I'm fully litter box trained, use my scratching posts like a respectable gentleman, and respect the furniture. I may just need a little direction at first to figure out where my scratching posts are in a new home.<br/><br/>I get along very well with both cats and dogs and enjoy having a laid-back furry companion nearby to cuddle with or sleep beside. I would also do best with older children who understand that cats have boundaries. I don't particularly enjoy being picked up, although I will tolerate it briefly. I have also established a strict limit of approximately three forced kisses before I feel it is necessary to leave the situation.<br/><br/>I may take some time to fully trust new people, and my future family will need to be patient and let me come to them at my own pace. But once that bond is built, I am incredibly loving, loyal, and affectionate in my own very cat-like way.<br/><br/>I'm approximately 3-4 years old and FIV+. My FIV status is likely a souvenir from my difficult years living on the streets, but it does not slow me down or affect my day-to-day life. In fact, it doesn't really affect me much at all, and I can safely live with other cats, dogs, and kids. I am otherwise living life exactly as intended: indoors, well-fed, surrounded by toys and blankets, and occasionally providing some entertainment with my funny sleeping positions. <br/><br/>My ideal home would be a relatively calm one with patient people who will give me a little time to settle in-and, ideally, a laid-back cat or dog companion to keep me company. I genuinely enjoy having another furry friend nearby to nap with. <br/><br/>If you're looking for a laid-back companion with a quirky personality and an affectionate side that comes out once he trusts you, I might just be your guy!<br/><br/>I've already survived the hard part. Now I'm just looking for a safe, loving home-and a few people and furry friends to share this good life with.
