Steve's Story
March 22nd, 2026 - Steve has arrived at the Global Pet Store, 255 Dundas St W in Waterdown. Go pay this cutie a visit. Please note that Steve MUST stay on an urinary prevention food for life.
Please read Steve's bio, requirements for adoption and if you think he would be a good fit then please go to avacats.org to fill out an online application form. An adoption co ordinator will be in touch.
Steve was rescued along with 2 others mid February - they were being evicted and couldn't bring all the cats they had. Steve had not been vetted at all. He went to our vet where he was flea treated, dewormed, received his FVCRP and rabies vaccines plus microchipped. We did test his urine and discovered he had an infection plus crystals. He immediately went on antibiotics, anti inflammatory pain meds and RC urinary SO food. He went to his foster home where he loved cuddling with his foster dad, visit his friends that came over, looking out the window at the birds, play with his toys and just enjoy the good life. He loves his urinary dry food which HE MUST stay on for the rest of his life. If you can not keep him on an urinary food then please do NOT apply. He has been back to the vet for another urinalysis after his treatment and it is all negative. He is ready to be adopted. He had another flea treatment and deworming as well at that time. His adoption fee is $250. Steve is a very sweet, loving , cuddly male who would love to find his new home. He did come from a house with lots of cats so would probably be good with another passive cat with proper introduction but he is loving all the attention he is getting as the only cat. He has not been tested with dogs at this point. AVA has an indoor and no declaw policy.
