Sterling - One of a Kind's Story
Meet Sterling – A Gentle, Hopping House Panther

Breed: Domestic Shorthair
Color: Striking gold eyes with black/brown coat and white mark on chest

Age: Approx. 4 years old
Gender: Neutered male

Sterling is a one-of-a-kind cat with a heart full of love and resilience. Born with a rare condition where his kneecaps are located on the back of his legs, Sterling moves with a unique little hop—but don’t worry, veterinarians do not expect any long-term issues from this condition. He gets around just fine and continues to live a happy, healthy life.

Complete medical records, X-rays, and a full veterinary assessment are available for review by potential adopters. Transparency is important to ensure the right match.
In April, Sterling’s life turned upside-down. I'm told he and his two younger brothers came from the home of an 83-year-old woman. Sadly, the person entrusted to rehome them planned to release the cats outdoors to fend for themselves. Fortunately, they were rescued in time.
Despite it all, Sterling is a loving, well-adjusted cat with a big heart. Shy at first, but he adores attention from people and would love a calm, caring home where he can be the center of someone’s world.

A few important notes for his future family:
Sterling may do best as a solo cat or with very gentle feline companions. One of his younger brothers bullied him in the past, which made him very unhappy. An adopter should be mindful and patient if other cats are in the home.
If it’s not the right fit, he can be returned to his foster. We want the very best outcome for him.
Sterling would benefit from pet-safe ramps or steps if allowed on furniture or beds, to help him navigate comfortably without jumping.
Sterling is ready to hop into his forever home and bring joy, affection, and a little extra inspiration into someone’s life.

Interested in giving Sterling a safe, loving home?
