Stella's Story

Special Kitten Needs a Special Human

This sweet little girl is looking for a very special person to give her the chance at the life she deserves. She's playful, affectionate, and eats like a champ-but she has some unique medical needs that will require daily care and long-term commitment.

Back story...Stella was found abandoned in a box at the edge of the woods at a business along with her two littermates and her mom. Luckily a kind Samaritan found them and alerted someone that could help.

Stella is a bobtail kitten but has no tail or nub at all. She does pee in the litter box, but poop may be found around the house.
She needs to have her bottom wiped clean throughout the day, and sometimes poop must be gently removed with a lubricated thermometer.
Currently passing hard stools, and at times there's a risk that backed-up poop can press against her bladder, so it's important to monitor that she is urinating regularly.

Diet:
Not picky, but staying on a regular diet helps keep her bowels moving and her tummy happy

Personality:
She's just like any other kitten in spirit-playful, loving, and sweet.
She's full of life, curiosity, and character.

What She Needs:
Someone who can stick to her medication and hygiene routine
A watchful eye to ensure she's pooping and peeing regularly
A heart big enough to care for a kitten who may never be "easy"
She is available as a long-term foster or foster-to-adopt, so we can see how she does over time.

While we remain hopeful, this condition may be lifelong and progressive, and there is a possibility that she may need humane euthanasia in the future if she's unable to poop or pee and is suffering. Our goal is always to prioritize quality of life.

But right now-she is thriving with the right care. And we believe she deserves the chance to be loved just like any other kitten.

If you have experience with special needs pets or feel called to help a truly deserving soul, she's ready to meet you.

Please complete an adoption application at hsdavie.org/cats or if you have any questions, please email admin@hsdavie.org
