Starr (Felv+)'s Story

Starr is a true gem of a cat! She is gentle, kind, affectionate and well-mannered, the perfect cat for first time owners or seasoned feline enthusiasts alike. She looks forward to spending time with her humans, so would excel in a home where someone is home often to give her the attention she desires.

Starr is FeLV regressive, but she doesn't let that slow her down one bit — she's healthy, happy, and bursting with affection. Truly one of a kind, Starr has endless love to give and is ready to fill her forever home with joy, cuddles, and laughter.

Though Starr has tested positive for FeLV, she can still be a great companion in the right home. Starr would have to be a solo cat or be housed with other cats that are testing positive for FeLV as well. Starr can also live with dogs and other animals, as FeLV is not contagious to any other animal other than fellow cats. FeLV is a permanent illness, and can cause a shortened lifespan in cats. Because Starr is FeLV regressive, she can still live a happy and fulfilling life. Keeping an eye on auxiliary illness and symptoms is vital, and a strong relationship with your veterinarian is crucial to keeping a cat with this illness.

Starr does fine with other cats, but would prefer to have roommates who didn't try to wrestle or chase her - another kitty companion with a chill, laid back demeanor like her would suit her just fine, or she wouldn't mind being an only cat. She has only had exposure to small dogs (cat-sized) and tolerates them, but again, under the same conditions that they don't invade her personal space.

This pet is altered (spayed/neutered), up to date on age appropriate vaccines, tested negative for FIV, dewormed and microchipped. An adoption application must be submitted and approved prior to scheduling a meet and greet appointment: www.felinefinecatrescue.org/adopt. If you have any additional questions, please email us at: admin@felinefinecatrescue.org.

Due to this cat's Felv+ status, the adoption fee is waived for approved applicants.
