STARBIE's Story

APRIL 2026

PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BELOW. IT WILL ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS. If you still have questions after, we are happy to respond through email.

It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes and we don't know you personally (yet). Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life.

The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! Rescue Mama has had 3 live into their 20's. One was 8 weeks old.

STARBIE and her 3 siblings (SHADOW, ELCO & INKY) were rescued from Los Angeles, California on Alameda and 101 in a trucking company parking lot. Rescue mama was called that a lady was trapping all the cats to get them fixed and needed help with the kittens. So our trapper went out and brough us the kittens so they would not have to die in that truck parking lot. They brought us 2 different set of siblings. A total of 7 kittens.

And now STARBIE is ready for her FUREVER home!

Meet STARBIE: A Sweet and Shy Tabby Ready to Blossom

STARBIE is a beautiful Mackerel tabby with striking markings and a gentle soul. She, along with her three siblings – Shadow, Elco, and Inky – were rescued from a truck station in Los Angeles, California, where they were left to navigate the world on their own. Now, STARBIE is looking for a patient and understanding home where she can continue to learn how to trust and blossom into the loving companion she’s meant to be.

A Shy but Gentle Soul

STARBIE is a bit shy at first, as her early experiences left her a little uncertain about the world. She may take time to warm up to new people, but once she feels comfortable, she’s a sweet and affectionate cat who loves gentle pets. While she might not be the first to jump into your lap, she does appreciate a soft touch and kind words. Over time, STARBIE will build the trust she needs to feel secure and will show her true, loving personality.

Great with Other Cats

STARBIE gets along well with other cats, especially those who are kind and respectful of her boundaries. She enjoys the company of other felines and could thrive in a multi-cat household where she can feel part of a calm, safe social group. She is likely to do well with other friendly cats who will help her feel at ease.

A Journey of Trust

Though STARBIE is still learning to trust humans, she’s made incredible progress since her rescue. With time, patience, and positive reinforcement, she’s discovering that people can be kind and that love comes with safety and security. She’ll need an adopter who is willing to go at her pace, offering her the space and gentle encouragement she needs to open up.

Her Ideal Home

Quiet and Calm: STARBIE will do best in a peaceful home where she can feel safe and secure as she continues to adjust. Loud noises or chaotic environments might overwhelm her, so a calm household will help her thrive.

Patient and Understanding Adopter: STARBIE needs someone who understands shy cats and is ready to help her build confidence at her own pace. An adopter with experience in working with shy or sensitive cats will be ideal.

Friendly Cats: Since STARBIE enjoys the company of other cats, she would do well in a home with other friendly, non-aggressive cats who will help her feel comfortable and give her space to adjust.

A Bright Future Ahead

STARBIE may be a little shy and unsure right now, but with the right person, she will blossom into a loving, affectionate cat who will return your patience and kindness with loyalty and companionship. Watching her come out of her shell and become the confident, trusting cat she’s destined to be will be an incredibly rewarding experience.

If you’re looking for a quiet and sweet cat who needs a little extra time to feel secure, STARBIE might be the perfect fit for you. She’s ready to start the next chapter of her life and is waiting for the person who will help her learn to trust and love again.

STARBIE is DOMESTIC SHORT HAIR / MACKEREL TABBY MIX. She is about 3 year 1 month old and is good with cats. She has not been around young children or dogs. She has been around Guinea pigs.

STARBIE is currently at our rescue in Hemet, California.

ADOPTION PROCESS:

1. Go to Workinwhiskers.com (Click on ADOPT)
2. Just ask!

If you have any questions not covered here, please feel free to email us:

Workinwhiskers2020@hotmail.com
