Stanley's Story

This sweet-natured, gentle soul is Stanley. He won our hearts instantly with his hopeful, trusting eyes - wanting love and quickly opening up for pets and cuddles.

Stanley needs an angel. We thought for sure he would find a home quickly, so loveable and playful. And then he tested positive for FeLV. Our hearts broke. It is always harder for the positive kitties to find their special people, and Stanley is only 6 months old. Just a baby. He doesn't know he has a scary virus. Right now he is a happy and healthy boy, and if he could talk he would tell you that when you have our support, it's not as scary as it sounds! He SO deserves a family to love him.

FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus) is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and sometimes a shorter life span. It's quite common for a Felvie kitty to live years. For the most part, they are just like any other cat.

Stanley is perfect as the only kitty in your home. He also gets along easily with other cats and can live with those who also tested positive for FeLV. Gentle dogs and other animals are perfectly fine - they cannot get this virus.

If you are interested in fostering or adopting Stanley, contact tammy.arsi@gmail.com to learn more. We would LOVE for Stanley to find a home for the holidays!

ARSI has a lot of experience with cats that test positive for FeLV and can provide support and treatment for long term fosters.
