Stanley's Story
Hi everyone! My name is Stanley aka Stan the Man. I had been adopted but returned through no fault of my own. You see, my previous guardian noticed I was peeing a lot and peeing outside of the litter box. They took me to VCA Valley Animal Hospital for a good checkup where they decided to run some blood work. When the results came back, it turned out I was Diabetic! Unfortunately, my previous guardian knew they could not provide the care I needed with consistent insulin injections. When RVSPCA heard about my new diagnosis, they took me back in. Fortunately, they contacted one of the Licensed Technicians at VCA Valley Animal Hospital if she would be willing to foster me while we figured out my Diabetes. She agreed and I've been staying with her since August! I think I'm a good room mate. Ever since starting insulin injections, I feel much better and use the litter box like I'm supposed to. I get fed a special wet food and it's very yummy and I eat it right up. I don't even notice the small pokes! While my foster and VCA Valley Animal Hospital were figuring out my Diabetes, I got very sick. It also turns out I have a specific type of Heart Disease called Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM). This means the walls of my heart are thickened. Thankfully, my foster and the staff at VCA Valley Animal Hospital and Virginia Tech got me started on new medications. I've been doing really well on these new meds. My foster puts them in a little treat, pops them in my mouth, she says I'm the best cat to give meds to! Don't let my face deter you. I'm a lover! I love pets and head scratches. I even like my chest and belly rubbed. While I might not be a lap cat, I'll keep you company, laying beside you. I also enjoy laying in the sun! My foster says I have the loudest motor. But that just means more love to give you! I love scratching posts and I love cat wand toys! I'm a laid back easy going kitty. However, I do not enjoy car rides, they make me anxious and I tend to have some accidents in my carrier. I also get very alarmed with something called a vacuum. Those things shouldn't exist.

Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Grey Weight: 16.0625lbs Age: 6yrs 3mths 2wks Animal has been Neutered
