Meet Squirrel
Little Squirrel came to us from a colony situation. From the get-go she was always very concerned with humans near her. Fearful and a little skittish, it has taken time to show her that humans are no longer a threat, but are here to love her.
Squirrel now sleeps in bed with me every night and loves her morning belly rubs. She loves to play and run around and is absolutely obsessed with treats!
Her fur is perhaps the coolest thing - while she looks black, she actually has a white/grey undercoat and her belly is fully grey. As she grows into this look, she is going to be even MORE stunning.
Squirrel is still wary of humans, particularly men. No matter how kind and calm and gentle a man is towards her, she still fears. She is slightly better with older children, but definitely prefers women.
Squirrel loves playing with other kittens her age (6+ months), and also loves being around and cuddling with older calm cats. She will benefit from being with another cat (or more) as long as they are calm, and non-aggressive.
The family that adopts Squirrel will need to be patient with her and understand she hasn’t come from and easy beginning. She needs time to trust and love. But it DOES happen ??.
