Squid and Chip's Story

Meet Squid and Chip, a bonded pair of cat friends! Squid is approximately 5 years old, and Chip’s age is roughly estimated to be between 5-8 years.

Squid is a snuggly and affectionate black-and-white tuxedo who loves to sit in your lap, scarf down some wet food, scratch her post, and lounge on her floor hammock. Her favorite things include Churu treats and her rainbow-shaped Yeowww! catnip toy.

Chip is a friendly and sweet orange kitty who likes to follow you around your home and solicit pets, purring and giving loving head butts (and occasionally a love nibble). He also loves to lounge on a comfy chair and roll around in some catnip. His favorite treats are anything fishy (e.g. scallop Churu treats) and he loves to play with any rope or feather toys.

Together, they make a sweet and loving pair.

Both kitties are a little chunky at the moment and may need to gradually be fed a slower and/or healthier diet. Squid loves food and will be very clear when she’s hungry, so this will take some discipline! Chip will sometimes not eat wet food if it’s not sufficiently fishy or appetizing (he typically will not eat Friskies, and often will not eat poultry-only wet food from other brands) Squid needs a little help cleaning her rear end because she’s too chubby at the moment to reach! Their prior owner reported harness-training both cats as of a few years ago. Their foster parent has not taken them outside or attempted to put a harness on them. They would prefer to live in a home with 2+ humans if possible- Chip loves human attention and can occasionally get jealous of Squid (i.e. pounce on her and bite hard) if only one human is around!

What Squid and Chip are looking for in a home:

- They want to stay together forever and must be adopted as a pair.
- They feel at ease in a quiet and calm environment.
- They need to live indoors only.
- They have no known history with other cats.
- They would prefer to not have dogs in the home.·
- They have no known history with children.

All Alley Cat Project’s cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated prior to adoption.

Alley Cat Project adoption fees are:

- $200 per cat or kitten
- $350 for pair of cats or kittens
- $50 for senior cat (over 8 years old)
- Flexible reduced fees for a cat with a chronic medical condition that requires ongoing care
- Additional charitable donations are appreciated and support our overall rescue efforts

Thank you for your interest in Chip and Squid! If your household fits the above criteria, you can apply to adopt them by filling out this questionnaire: https://alleycatproject.org/adopt

Only applicants who complete the questionnaire will be considered. Please do not submit an inquiry through Petfinder, as it will not replace the questionnaire and we will not respond.
