Squid's Story

Meet Squid!

Squid came to TCR months ago when he was rescued from a small hoarding situation where him and his family weren't being taken care of properly. His parents (adoptable Adrian and adoptable Balboa) were already human friendly, but Squid and his 3 siblings (adoptable Sterling, adoptable Jasper, and not yet adoptable Lisa) were a little more hesitant to trust us since they weren't socialized properly as small kittens. With time, they've all come out of their shells.

Squid is a ridiculously handsome silver/gray tabby with really pointy ears, a soft coat, and yellow eyes. He is definitely a shy guy who takes some time to build up his trust with humans. He is used to their presence and likes to watch his foster mom putz around his colony room. He has had a big change in his personality since he entered the colony room and has become even more trusting. He really enjoys soft pets and can be seen making muffins on the soft spots in the room. Squid really loves other cats and loves to head butt and rub on all of his foster friends. Squid is still young and playful and has the energy to play with just about any toy he can find! Squid would need to go to a home with a patient family who can start him off in a small space, go slow with him, and take time to bond with him. He would love to have a cat buddy, maybe one of his foster siblings, or have a built in one in his new home! Dogs may be a little too scary for him, but maybe an older, calm dog would be ok. We think young kids may be too much for him but older, cat savvy ones would be ok. We think Squid has so much room to grow! We believe his time growing with us is done and that he's ready to find his family who can make him feel safe in his forever home!

Squid is about a year old, neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, FIV/FELV tested negative, dewormed, and flea treated. If this handsome, shy little guy sounds like a good buddy for you, apply for him today!

Trash Cat Rescue's Adoption Policy
Typically the potential adopter reaches out either with or without a specific cat in mind. We will usually ask questions about the type of cat the adopter is interested in (any preferences as far as gender, color, personality, etc.), as well as the sort of home the cat would be going to (any kids, other pets, etc.). If we have a cat or kitten who would be a good fit, the adopter can fill out our application for that animal. If not, the person can still fill out the app, and we will keep them if mind if we end up with a cat who we think would be a good fit. Once the app is reviewed/approved (including checking vet and landlord references), we would chat any further with the adopter if needed, and then schedule a meet and greet with them with the cat or kitten. If the animal and the adopter hit it off, the adopter would then fill out our adoption agreement, pay the adoption fee, and take the cat or kitten home!
