Squeak's Story

Hi there! My name is Squeak! I may have been named that because I have barely
“squeaked by” in life so far. I survived my kittenhood when only one in four kittens born in the wild live past two months of age. Then I might not have made it to my first birthday were it not for a kind human who started caring for me. However, she could not keep me inside full-time and decided to contact a shelter that could find me a forever home. I will always be grateful for the time I had with her and that she made the right decision for me.

I may also have been named “Squeak” because it is a name given to energetic and playful pets, and one that implies cuteness and liveliness. I didn’t have a lot of opportunities for playtime in my previous life, but I certainly enjoy playtime now with the volunteers at my shelter! I also love to explore, but my favorite thing is being with people. I am friendly, snuggly, and love to be petted.

One other thing you do need to know about me is that I am FIV+. But cats with this condition live long and healthy lives when they are indoors. I can pass this to another cat by way of a puncture bite wound, so although I like other cats, it would be best if I were an only. I cannot pass this on to people or other pets, such as dogs, and I am still young enough to try socializing with any you may have, but a slow introduction would be necessary. Squeak would not be good with small children.

I am weary of just “squeaking by” in life. I want a home where I don’t have to worry about predators, cars, disease, or extreme weather. I want one in which I can relax, be loved, and play. Please take a chance on me; I’m ready to take a chance on you.

DOB 11/23/2023

If you're interested in Squeak, we ask that you please fill out a "pre-adopt application" that can be found on our website: https://www.parkvilleshelter.com/adoption-application. We will contact you to schedule an appointment. Thank you.
