Spoink's Story
Meet Spoink. Spoink came to us in January 2026 from a rural shelter in northwestern Minnesota where he had been found as a stray. He is estimated to be about a year and a half (estimated birth date is May 2025), he has been felv/fiv tested (negative), vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped.

Spoink is the life of the party and loves to be the first to race into every room. Spoink is a very affectionate (he launches onto your lap if you're sitting down), friendly, playful little guy. He is pretty particular about the cats he calls friends so may be best as an only cat. He is okay with well mannered dogs.

Spoink was diagnosed with renal dysplasia. This means that his kidneys are deformed. It is a birth defect. He drinks more water than normal and as a result urinates more. It also means that his life expectancy may be shortened. We don't know the timeline, of course. He could live another two years or another five years or ten years, we just don't know. He would be best to be on a kidney diet. With the deformed kidneys, it would be best that he eat more canned food than dry and of course always adequate water (he loves his automatic waterer).

Are you willing to open your home to this special energetic affectionate boy?

For more information, please contact Cause for Paws at cause4paws@hotmail.com or leave us a message at 952.259.1483.
