Spoink's Story

Meet Spoink. Spoink came to us from a rural shelter in northwestern Minnesota where he had been found as a stray. He is estimated to be about 9 months old (estimated birth date is May 2025), he has been felv/fiv tested (negative), vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. Spoink is a friendly, playful little guy. He would be ok as an only cat in the home or would do well with like minded cats (playful). He is though very particular about the cats he befriends and would be ok as an only cat in the home. He is okay with well mannered dogs. Spoink was diagnosed with renal dysplasia. This means that his kidneys are deformed. It us a birth defect. He will drink more water than normal and urinate more. It also means that his life expectancy will be shortened. He could live another year or another five years. There's no way to predict the timeline. He does not need to be on prescription food. Cause For Paws Inc.'s Adoption Policy

The adoption fee for a Cause for Paws cat is $225. There is an adoption application that is completed and reviewed prior to the adoption. This application will ask for a veterinarian reference and we will check this reference prior to an adoption. The application gives us an opportunity to learn more about the potential adopter and whether or not the cat that they are interested in would be a good match. There is also an adoption contract that is completed at the time of the adoption. Because we are an all-volunteer organization, we typically will respond to an inquiry within 24 to 48 hours.
