Spock's Story
Located in North Bethesda, Maryland.

Meet Spock, a handsome Maine Coon mix who came to the rescue as an owner surrender. Spock is a friendly, outgoing cat who absolutely loves people and thrives on human companionship. Once he settles in, he’s incredibly affectionate, enjoys being close to his humans, and is even a bit of a lap cat!

Spock is a social and vocal boy with a big personality — and one adorable quirk is that he wags his tail like a dog. He loves pets, attention, and simply being around his people. He may take a little time to warm up in a new environment, but once comfortable, he becomes very friendly and devoted. He enjoys sleeping in, getting brushed, and hanging out nearby soaking up affection. While he’s not a fan of being picked up or having his nails trimmed, he happily accepts love on his own terms.

This playful boy does best with larger, confident male cats who can match his rough-and-tumble play style. He got along very well with an older male cat and also did great with dogs. However, he can be too intense for smaller or timid cats, especially female littermates, as he may chase, corner, or taunt them during play. Because of this, we recommend a home with either no other cats or only confident, assertive male cats who can handle his energetic personality.

Spock can sometimes get overexcited during playtime and may accidentally scratch, so he would do best with adopters who understand cat behavior and can help redirect rough play appropriately.

If you’re looking for a fluffy, talkative companion with lots of personality who loves affection and being near his people, Spock may be your perfect match!
