Spirit's Story
Do you have a giving spirit? Then check out our sassy Spirit!

Spirit came to us from another shelter and spent some time in foster care learning proper manners and getting acquainted with people. Now, Spirit is ready to find her fur-ever home with that special someone.

ABOUT SPIRIT
- At shelter
- Spirit loves to play at night, taking advantage of her alone time and coming out of her cubby to explore
- During the day, she is generally found curled up and cozy with her best buddy, Julius.
- Spirit is a sweet girl; she’s soft and sometimes sassy!
- Thanks to the dedicated work of shelter volunteers, Spirit recently graduated from EHS’s socialization program.
- She’s grown to become a confident, relaxed cat who loves to be pet by hand on her full body, but especially her cheeks, forehead, back. She actually looks a little wistful when the attention stops and may give a gentle head-butt to get the love going again!
- Spirit has the loudest purr, which not only tells everyone how happy and content she is, but also soothes the people and cats around her. Volunteers say she’ll sometimes even make a pigeon-like sound!
- When the shelter is quiet, Spirit is often now seen at the front of her kennel watching the world go by. She has also started to become interested in playing with wand toys with the volunteers. If she is approached too quickly or there are loud noises she will promptly retreat.
- She has FIV, which is a virus that weakens the immune system of a cat but is not transmissible to humans or other species.
- Spirit is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and has received core vaccinations.

SPIRIT'S IDEAL HOME
- Spirit enjoys the company of other cats, which helps her gain confidence.
- Spirit is part of a bonded pair and MUST be adopted with her partner, Julius, who also has FIV.
- She would benefit from a calm, quiet environment, preferably without small children or dogs.
- Spirit does not require medication for FIV but vet checkups twice a year are recommended.
- Cats who have FIV can live just as long as other cats if they are properly cared for with a good diet, an indoor home, and a loving family.

Let your generous spirit take a chance on this Spirit and inquire about making her part of your family today!

If you have any questions about Spirit or the adoption process, please contact cats@etobicokehumanesociety.com
