Spencer's Story

Spencer came to us from Juneau Co, after her owner was hospitalized and she had to surrender her 13 cats. She had a fractured leg which has since healed, and she's now ready for a loving home. Her foster shares: "Spencer is female, spayed, fully vaccinated and dog-friendly (!!) - she's likely around 1-ish years old. She's a little hesitant around other cats but with a slow introduction I'm confident she can adjust. After over 3 months with us, Spencer has blossomed into a cuddle puddle and a very playful & acrobatic kitten- she looooves to play with her wand toy, chase pompoms around the house, and find a warm spot to curl up (she'll find a heated blanket, human lap, or sunray). She also adores birdwatching and will chirp & thrill (video in post) which I find supremely adorable. She has transformed from a easily scared & underweight cat, into a very friendly & joyful little bean." All our cats are spayed/neutered, dewormed, FELV tested, microchipped, receive prevention while in our care, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. Shelter From The Storm's Adoption Policy

Minimum Requirements: - Applicant must be at least 18 years old. - If applicant rents, landlord must verify pet policy. - All pets in the home must have their rabies vaccine. Out-of-state applicants are welcome to apply but must come to us to meet and adopt the animal. We are unable to transport them to another state and will not put them on a plane to another state or country by themselves.
