Here’s what his foster volunteer says about him after just 2 weeks in foster care:

How would you describe the cat's general personality? He is the sweetest boy in the world. He is a bit jumpy, so no loud noises. But he loves to be pet, and he will bury his head into your hand if you put it out near him. I've never seen a cat so innocent and loving before. Even when he was the most scared, he never hissed and still would come for pets. He loves other cats, so whoever adopts him should have at least 1 friendly cat that is very active and loves to play with other cats, as this really helps to bring him out of his shell.

Does the cat enjoy being pet? Yes
If yes, on what parts of its body does the cat like to be pet? everywhere! But especially his head area.
Are there any parts of its body that the cat does NOT like being touched? No
Does the cat come on your lap? No
Does the cat like to be held? No
Does the cat sleep in your bed? No, he sleeps on the cat tree or behind my desk mostly.
Does the cat seek your attention? Yes, he will meow until he gets it.

Does the cat like to play? He LOVES to play
What are the cat's favorite games and toys? The toy that has different levels where you can push the ball around and watch it go in a circle.

How vocal is the cat? He is vocal
What kinds of sounds does the cat make? Meow

Does the cat scratch a scratcher? Yes
If no, please explain.
Does the cat always use the litter box? Yes
If no, please explain.

What food and frequency is the cat currently eating? I leave out a bunch of dry food (kitten, its the purina pro one), and he gets one can of wet food (fancy feast kitten)
Is the cat picky about food? Yes, extremely. He prefers the dry food, and even then, it isn't his favorite.
What is the cat's favorite treat? Delectables the churu looking version.

Does the cat ever swat (claws in) at you? If so, under what circumstances? Never
Has the cat ever scratched (claws out) you? Never
Does the cat ever nip (teeth without breaking skin) you? Yes, but not ever with bad intent, it is just him playing
Has the cat ever bitten you (breaking skin)? Never

To the best of your knowledge, how does the cat react to new people? Social? Fearful? Fearful at first, but still super sweet. He will hide but if you stick your hand near him he will go into it and ask for pets. After a few days, he completely warms up.

If you have observed the cat with other animals, please describe how they get on? He LOVES cats, I have never seen him with another type of animal.

Does that cat have any cute/quirky traits that aren’t covered by the previous questions? It is also so adorable seeing him try to get my cat to play at all times. I have a baby gate that separates them and he learned to jump over it because he loves being with him so much. He is also really good at listening; he somehow knows what I mean when I tell him to go to his room, and he listens pretty much every time.

In your opinion, what is the best thing about the cat? Why should an adopter choose THIS cat to adopt? This cat is a dream cat. Genuinely I wish I could keep him myself, and if I had the resources to I 100% would have. He is a very easy going cat who loves attention, even when he is terrified.

What are the cat's challenges and how have you found to best manage them?

- he is a bit fearful at times, so he would be best in a house that isn't too loud. Also, he would probably do best with no small kids. He needs someone that can give him space at first to warm up and build trust with him.

- he absolutely loves other cats, so he needs to go to a home that has another playful and friendly cat to help him be less scared

- this isn't necessarily a challenge, but he isn't food motivated, so that is something to be aware of.

To learn more about adopting this cat in Massachusetts, please visit www.blackcatrescue.com or fill out an Adoption Profile at https://blackcatrescue.com/adopt-cat-boston.
