Sparkler Domestic Short Hair Mix Plover, WI

Sparkler is, and has been, a very active and happy cat since she was brought here. When she was brought to the HSPC, it was noticed that she was in need of significant medical care. When medical staff was helping her they realized she didn't have a normal urinary system like other cats, and the likelihood of her surviving was very low. After many surgeries, medications, and some trial and error, Sparkler proved all of us wrong by surviving and doing well despite the medical problems she has and will have for the rest of her life. Over the last year, Sparkler has had on and off urinary tract infections which antibiotics have proved to help. She is also on Gabapentin and Cystease capsules long term which helps with pain management and to keep the inflammation down. Sparkler is our mystery kitty, but she keeps proving that she is a fighter. It is good to know that although Sparkler does use the litterbox, it isn't uncommon for her to have accidents outside of the litterbox. She doesn't have a normal system to let her control when she does urinate which means she just needs a little extra TLC.
