I am a cat and I don't like water unless I am drinking it or batting it with my paw because the reflection of light makes the water in the bowl look like a toy. Really, I am quite friendly, although it may take a few days for me to really warm up to you. Once I do, though, you will find I love snuggling (after getting out all of my energy, of course).
