Sophie's Story

**NOTE: All AVA kittens under 12 months of age MUST be adopted in pairs or to a home with another young cat. AVA does not accept applications for single kittens**

Meet Thomas, Jerry and Sophie -- a terrific trio of brown, tabby kittens! Together, these three are truly tempting: playful, curious and cuddly with terrific appetites for both canned and dry food and tidy litter box habits too.

At first glance, Thomas and Jerry look like identical twins! One trusted trick to tell them apart is that Thomas has a more solid black stripe down his spine. His face and torso are slightly thinner too. Thomas is a touch more timid at first, but once he knows you, he will show off his belly and allow himself to be petted and picked up.

Jerry is probably the bravest of the trio. He is the first to explore new territory. Wherever Jerry goes, Thomas is not far behind. These brothers are a textbook pair for rough-and-tumble kitten wrestling. If you are looking for a truly bonded pair, Thomas and Jerry would be the two kittens for you!

Sophie is the tiny sister of the trio. Noticeably smaller and fluffier than her brothers, Sophie has cute ear tufts and a soft, swishy tail. Sophie is an explorer and a supervisor. Though she has short legs and cannot jump very high, she has discovered an improvised obstacle course that leads her to the counter to watch canned food being portioned out for breakfast.

All three kittens turn on their purr motors once they feel secure. They enjoy sitting beside people and Sophie is already a lap-lover. While they haven’t tested life with young children or dogs, they would probably take to both with a thoughtful introduction.

As per AVA’s two-kitten policy, Thomas, Jerry & Sophie should be adopted with a sibling or go to a home with a young cat or kitten. The top-tier result would be one home for all three – a trio that truly thrives together!

Would you like to make them a part of your family? Please complete our online application found at: www.avacats.org/adoption-application-form

Our adoption fees cover vetting and include spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines (initial FVRCP and rabies), flea treatment, two dewormings and microchipping.

Adoption fees are $275 for each kitten up to 12 months old. Please note that fees may apply for additional required vaccinations (at $75 per booster) due prior to adoption. Total adoption fees will be confirmed by the AVA Adoption Coordinator.

All AVA kittens 12 months or younger must be adopted in pairs or go to a home with another young cat (3 years or younger). Kittens learn from each other how to behave, which helps them turn into well-adjusted adult cats. In general, paired cats have happier and healthier lives because they have a constant companion and playmate. Plus, it's twice the fun for you, and half the work!
