Sophia's Story

Bonded Pair with Mitty

Meet Sophia A Gentle Mama Looking for a Forever Home with Her Son, Mitty

Sophia is a beautiful young Domestic Shorthair, approximately 2 years old, whose quiet strength and loving heart have carried her through more than most cats will ever experience. She and her son, Mitty, are a bonded pair and must be adopted together.

When Sophia came into our rescue in September 2025, she was a young stray doing everything she could to protect and care for her kittens outdoors. Tragically, distemper claimed most of her litter despite every effort to save them. Mitty is her only surviving kitten. Through every challenge, they have remained inseparable, finding comfort, safety, and love in one another.

Sophia is fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, and healthy. She has recovered beautifully after battling distemper and an upper respiratory infection alongside her kittens. She does have occasional mild respiratory sensitivity, but multiple veterinarians have found no underlying medical cause. She thrives in a home that avoids heavily scented products such as plug-in air fresheners, scented candles, strong perfumes, and scented cat litter. An air purifier is also recommended to help keep her comfortable.

Sophia has a calm, gentle, and incredibly endearing personality. She can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once she feels safe, shell quietly rub against your legs, watch the world from nearby, and happily accept gentle pets. She loves being close to her people, even if shes not always in your lap. While she isnt a fan of being picked up, she adores affection on her own terms and has a peaceful presence that makes a house feel like home.

She gets along well with other cats after slow introductions and has also done well around calm, cat-friendly dogs. She would thrive in a loving indoor home with respectful children or adults who appreciate a quiet, affectionate companion.

Sophia and Mitty groom one another, sleep curled up together, and provide each other with comfort every single day. They have survived loss, illness, and life on the streets together, and we are committed to ensuring they never have to face another chapter apart.

Sophia deserves a home where she can spend her days relaxing in a sunny window, watching birds and squirrels, enjoying gentle pets, and finally knowing what it feels like to be completely safe.

If youre looking for two extraordinary cats whose bond is as beautiful as their story, Sophia and Mitty are ready to fill your home with love.

Personality Traits: Affectionate Gentle Calm Quiet Curious Friendly Sweet Resilient

Bonded Pair: Sophia & Mitty
Domestic Shorthair Indoor Only Spayed/Neutered Vaccinated Microchipped Litter Box Trained Ready for Their Forever Home Together
