Sophia's Story

Meet Sophia!

A gentle soul with a story that matters.

Sophia is a beautiful 8-year-old all-black domestic shorthair who came to us during an incredibly emotional transition. When her beloved human mom had to enter hospice care, her greatest concern was ensuring that Sophia would be safe, loved, and cared for. We promised her just that -- a soft place for Sophia to land, and peace of mind for the person who loved her first.

Sophia was a cherished companion and it shows. She adores sleeping in bed with her foster parents, happily soaks up pets and chin scratches, and has a calm, affectionate presence that makes a house feel like home.

She does have arthritis, but it's well managed with a daily over-the-counter joint supplement and low-entry litter boxes to keep her comfortable and independent. Even with a few creaky joints, Sophia still enjoys playtime -- proving that age is truly just a number.

Sophia also has irritable bowel syndrome and requires a prescription diet of Hill's Biome dry food, along with a daily oral medication (Budesonide), which she takes easily like the good girl she is.

We know Sophia may be a more challenging adoption for some, but our hearts are set on finding her forever home -- especially before her original human mom transitions, so she can rest knowing her best friend is safe and loved.

Could Sophia be the right girl for you? If you have room in your heart and home for a truly special cat, Sophia is ready to meet you.
