Smudge's Story

Smudge was born in our care and from an early age had some differences and ended up being diagnosed with generalized seizures which caused some mild cogitative impairment. Smudge is a sweet, laid back cat who would do best in a home either with no other animals or dogs/cats that have a very calm demeanor. He is friendly with both cats and dogs, but due to his cognitive delays can be difficult to get along with. He tends to bite any sudden movement before him and will go after tails occasionally. He gets along with the animals thats the foster has. He is not a cuddly and prefers to have his own space and likes to have a quiet environment or space he can go too when he is overwhelmed. He does appreciate playing with toys and occasional petting. He is food motivated and his favorite toy is an electronic feather. He does not scratch furniture and is unable to jump up on furniture or cat trees. He will need regular grooming and nail trims, both of which he tolerates.

He is very good with people and strangers, but not the best with young children to his reactions with sudden movements. He also does occasionally miss the litterbox, but tries his best!!

He would do great in a home that just wants a buddy and companion.

He is on twice daily seizure medications and has been seizure-free for 1 month.
