SMUCKERS's Story

In late June of 2025 I took in the most DARLING, daring, dainty little lady who had a whole heap of stuff happening within her dinky body. Born in late 2024, she somehow ended up helpless, homeless, and horribly sick; she was taken off the streets of NW Grand Rapids in late May. Not only was she teeny-tiny, but she was intact, Feline Leukemia positive, and had a nasty, chronic upper respiratory infection that left her snorting like a piglet. Multiple procedures were undertaken to flush out her nasal and aural passages, and I went spelunking her oral cavity in the hopes of locating an inflammatory polyp that was causing her stertorous breathing – but no such luck. No matter though, as NOTHING stops this girl from having fun! So, she snorts – it just makes her more charming! And you can hear her coming from several rooms away! Oh! I almost forgot - she has a permanent head-tilt, so she always SEEMS off-kilter, but nothing could be farther from the truth! This gal has got it going on – and then some!
She is also a fan-favorite:
“Smuckers is a tiny girl with a HUGE personality, and she isn't afraid to show it off. She is not crazy about the other cats but has learned to live with them with very few issues: hiss or growl, but she backs down. She needs a home that understands that she is young and extremely busy! Because she's so little and adorable, she is always scooped up by the volunteers, and she is finally starting to be okay with that. She would be a fun kitty for a family with older kids to keep her occupied and entertained:) In her down time (ha!) she lives for a good window seat with prime squirrel and bird watching capabilities. She still does that kitten “passed out drunk"" sleep of the dead on the windowsills and in beds, which is ‘adorkable’. But rest assured, when she's not napping, it is 100% go- go- go!”

SMUCKERS IS PART OF OUR FOREVER-FOSTER-A -FELEUK KITTY!
Let us know if you would like more info.
