Smokey Joe's Story

Smokey Joe's story doesn't have the happiest ending - YET! That's where you come in.

We rescued Smokey Joe several years ago and he was adopted into a very loving family. However, as the family grew with kids and more pets, his family realized that Smokey Joe was just not a wild and crazy kind of guy, and he was struggling. He needed a much quieter home.

Now that he's in his foster home with no energetic dogs, playful kittens, curious toddlers or rambunctious teenagers, he's really starting to thrive. He loves his "brush time" and starts to drool when he's happily getting ear pets, chin scritches and head rubs. He would much rather spend time snuggled on the couch next to his people than hanging with any other felines.

Smokey Joe is a six-year-old long-haired silver cat (so very handsome). He needs a quiet home and would do best as an only pet. He needs a family who understands how to build trust. He's reserved, and a bit introverted around new people, but he has a ton of affection to give. He just needs a place where he will really feel safe and loved.

Smokey Joe is neutered, vaccinated, tested negative for FELV/FIV, microchipped, and litterbox trained.

****Please email adopt@ForgottenFelinesDenver.org, or you may complete our online application: https://forgottenfelinesdenver.org/adoption-application/

Adoption fee: $75

Forgotten Felines Rescue's Adoption Policy
We are so excited that you are thinking about adopting a new cat. Our cats stay in temporary loving foster homes until they can be adopted into permanent, loving homes. We may also have cats and kittens in foster homes who are not yet posted on our adoption sites. Please keep checking these sites or let us know what you are interested in adopting. Once you have seen a cat online or through social media, the cat adoption process begins. We will work with you to make sure that there is the correct match between adopter and pet. We want to make sure that you are committed to your new cat. It’s important to be ready to provide a life-long home for the cat you are interested in. The first step in the cat adoption process is to complete an Adoption Application: https://forgottenfelinesdenver.org/adoption-application/. You will need to include the name and number of your current veterinarian, the name and number of your landlord (if applicable), and three references. Don’t forget to include a note about which cat/kitten you are interested in. One of our volunteers will likely give you a call to talk more about your household, family and experience with pet ownership.
