SMOKEY simply needs someone patient enough to give him a little time and reassurance while he settles in.<br/><br/>He enjoys interactive play, especially games that let him channel his inner wild cat. Wave a wand toy so he can sneak up, stalk, and pounce like he’s hunting prey, and you’ll see his playful instincts come alive. It may take him a little time to warm up to playtime, but once he feels comfortable, he’s happy to bat at toys and chase them around. One thing he never seems to get tired of? Gentle cheek and neck rubs — those are definite favorites.<br/><br/>SMOKEY also appreciates having a cozy spot where he can relax and observe the world around him. From a comfy perch, he likes to take everything in at his own pace. We expect he’ll continue to relax and show more of his personality once he’s in a consistent home environment with people who understand that trust takes time.<br/><br/>He can coexist with other cats, but we don’t think SMOKEY would be comfortable living with dogs.
