Smokey's Story
Meet Smokey – The Sweet, Gentle Late-Bloomer

Smokey is a handsome 10-month-old kitten with a soft spirit and an even softer heart. He was the last of his litter to be trapped—several weeks after his brothers and sister were already safe in foster care. Because he spent a little extra time outside, Smokey was very skittish, and we weren’t sure whether he could fully adjust to life as an indoor companion.

He was neutered with the intention of giving him a fair chance at socialization, and if it didn’t work, he would transition to being a yard kitty. But Smokey had other plans—and he has come such a long way since those first nervous days. Smokey is sweet, gentle, and incredibly catsocial. He absolutely adores other cats and gains confidence

from being around them. While he is still a bit shy with new people, he’s slowly learning that humans can be safe and loving. He’s begun allowing his foster family to hold him, pet him, and love on him, and each week he blossoms just a little more.

 What Smokey Needs
Smokey will thrive in a calm home that already has:
At least one friendly resident cat (two would be even better!)
A patient adopter who understands shy kitties
A willingness to let Smokey open up at his own pace
With the right feline companions and gentle humans, he will continue to grow into an even more trusting,
affectionate kitty.

 Why You’ll Love Him
Sweet, gentle disposition
Gets along beautifully with other cats
Quiet and easygoing
A rewarding “slow-bloom” companion who will bond deeply with the right person

Smokey is ready for a loving forever home where he can continue his journey from shy kitten to confident companion.
