Smokey's Story

Hi, my name is Smokey the Vampire! I'm a PURPLE pawprint, which means I will fit well into a home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:

-Personality: Sensitive but sweet, cautious, independent, gentle
-Can Live with Cats: Smokey has never lived with cats before. Introductions will need to be slow and structured to ensure everyone gets along.
-Can Live with Dogs: No thanks, Smokey is scared of dogs
-Can Live with Kids: Gentle kids ages 10+
-Needs Indoor Only Home: Yes, Smokey has been indoor-only his whole life
-History of Litter Box Issues: No
-Energy Level: Medium
-Bite History: No
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Yes, a neuter
Additional Information:
Smokey is a shy but sweet boy who would do best in a quiet home. He's still settling in here at the shelter, but is slowly showing us his friendly side. Smokey prefers calm interaction and may do best in an adult-only home. It may take a little while for Smokey to adjust to his new home, so an adopter who will be patient with him is best.

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
