Smokey's Story
Smokey came into our care this winter after we learned that his tail was completely degloved and badly infected. OUCH! As we rushed to get Smokey the medical attention he needed, we discovered he is a very friendly boy who is ready to be off the streets once and for all!

Despite the pain, this resilient gentle giant was on his back making air biscuits on the OR table the morning of his surgery. Smokey is now a (tail) amputee, making him look even MORE like a baby hippo. He wears it well. He is healing wonderfully from his surgery and is a very happy, healthy boy.

Smokey is still working on his confidence, so he is looking for a patient adopter. He loves his foster parents dearly, but still sometimes needs to be scooped up from the corner and placed on the bed for interaction time. Once he is out of hiding, his true colors shine. He loves to be pet and will headbutt your hands if you stop. He adores other cats, and they really help bring him out of his shell, so a home with another congenial cat or two would be a dream for this guy.

Smokey loves showing belly, and he has a major case of "happy feet" (if the OR example didn't give that away!). Smokey has the sweetest meow, although you won't hear it much as he is a pretty quiet, chill guy. With a little more time and trust (and a lot of Churu!), Smokey will be the perfect blend of independent and affectionate.

If you are looking to provide this handsome fella with his forever home, please get an app in to schedule a meet and greet.

DOB: 1/25/21

All cats are altered, microchipped, dewormed and given age appropriate vaccinations.

PLEASE NOTE: We do not have a physical shelter, therefore all our cats reside in foster homes. We do require a completed application prior to setting up a Meet & Greet in a foster home. Complete an application today! https://www.urbancats.org/adopt

Si necesitas ayuda en Español, por favor contáctenos a info@urbancats.org.

If cats are listed, consider them available. Please do not email or call us asking if they are still available. Visit our website www.urbancats.org/process for additional information about our organization, adoption policies and adoption fees.
