He doesn't do well at adoption events. Being surrounded by strangers with all the noise and activity is just too overwhelming for him. <br/><br/>Once he's in a safe, quiet environment with his people, you get to see the real Slate...<br/> He is incredibly sweet.<br/> He loves being near his people.<br/> He loves snuggling and being part of whatever you're doing.<br/> He LOVES his toys and can keep himself entertained with a good play session.<br/><br/>He has the cutest little churples and coos that he uses to communicate with you. He rarely even gives you a regular meow! And once he trusts you, he is just a wonderful little companion.<br/><br/>Slate isn't looking for just any home. He needs a home with another cat or a dog who will accept him and give him a furry friend to help him feel secure. <br/>He needs someone who understands that trust doesn't always happen in the first five minutes. Someone willing to give him a little time, a little patience, and a safe place to decompress. Because underneath there is a sweet, playful, affectionate boy who desperately wants to belong. <br/><br/>Slate has been with us long enough that we know exactly what kind of home he needs. We're going to skip the stressful adoption events and find his family the right way — one special person who sees his potential and gives him the chance to show them who he really is. And we think Slate is worth getting to know. <br/><br/>Slate is fully vaccinated and will be neutered on September 18th (when 6 months old) and that is covered in his adoption fee of $75; there is a $100 fully refundable deposit that will be returned after he is neutered. <br/><br/>A vet reference is recommended.
