REDUCED ADOPTION FEE OF $50! Skye Thea is a great companion if you allow her time to settle into your home. She doesn't like to be alone & will cry or come to your call if she wants attention. She wants to be wherever you are & will settle near you whenever you settle. She loves the affection of head & back rubbing - she will come seeking it & then roll around near you until you reach out. Critter watching is one of her favorite pastimes. Squirrels, birds, raccoons & even an ant will excite her & keep her attention. Skye is also very playful. She loves to run & be chased. She particularly likes attacking anything hidden (under a rug or blanket) if she has seen it moving. She is learning to play by herself more & more but I suspect a playmate cat would be well received because she has lived amiably with other cats in her past and sought them out lovingly. Her main diet has been dried food but she does enjoy one meal of canned food each day. Skye has been waiting for a permanent home for a long time...a year! She is not a "cuddler" cat. She doesn't like to be picked up or held. She is shy & slow to trust people. I have fostered Skye for a couple of different periods during which I have seen remarkable change & growth in her interaction with me. She used to run & hide when she saw me coming. Now she will come just to be in the same room where I am. She used to be in hiding whenever I came home; now she will most likely be settled into the living room spot where I most often sit. If you want a good companion, Skye is definitely worth any extra effort it may take to earn her trust. All cats are spayed/neutered, current on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, FELV/FIV tested, dewormed and started on monthly flea preventative.<br/><br/>All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption.
