Siya's Story
This is Siya, a Norwegian Forest Cat, which is an intelligent and popular breed.

Siya is what most people want in a cat. She is personable, playful, healthy, well groomed and well behaved. She meows and purrs loudly, loves to play, climb trees and hunt, and adores attention. Siya is young - about 2 years old, weighs about 12 lbs, and has medium length long hair which she keeps soft and pretty. She has a wonderful temperament and has never hissed at, scratched or bitten her foster person.

We don't know how Siya is with children, dogs or other cats, but Forest Cats are known to be good with kids and other animals. She has, however, been chased and worries about the feral cats in her foster's back field.

Siya is not comfortable with being picked up and carried (common with the breed), but she snuggles against your legs for head and ear scratches, hops up onto your bed, likes attention and will follow you around the house. She clearly wants to live in a home with people and be in a close and loving relationship.

Siya is primarily an indoor cat but she enjoys being outside. While we would love to have her adopted as an indoor cat, we would be ok with her being outside as long as she has a safe area to hang out in. She is house trained but is used to going to the bathroom outside versus using a litter box and she has not had any 'accidents' in her foster's house.

The Norwegian Forest Cat is a desireable breed and there are lots of videos on the internet about them. Siya has all the classic behaviors described in these videos so we recommend watching some to learn about this breed.

Siya is available LOCALLY ONLY as foster to adopt, which means we are only accepting applications from the Hurricane area (Washington County). She has already been spayed and microchipped so once she has been fully vaccinated her adoption will become final and this sweet ball of fur will be yours forever.

If you're interested in Siya, submit a BAM Foster to Adopt Application, and if approved, we'll contact you as soon as possible to arrange a meeting.
