Sissy's Story

Meet Sissy - The Sweetheart Who's Learning How to Love <br/><br/>Sissy didn't exactly get the easy start in life - this little lady was out on her own and already a young mama at just 7 or 8 months old. But wow, has she come a long way! Once we rescued Sissy and her babies, we discovered there's a total sweetheart under that shy exterior.<br/><br/>Now that she's safe and cozy, Sissy has decided pets are amazing, ear scratches are essential, and outside is overrated. She'll greet you at the door with the cutest meow, purr like a tiny motorboat, and if you dare stop petting her too soon - she'll gently tap you like, "Excuse me... we weren't done!"<br/><br/>Sissy is still learning to fully trust humans, but her heart is definitely in the right place. She wants love, she wants connection - she just needs a patient human (or family) to keep showing her that love is safe.<br/><br/> Sissy's Secret Wish: She says she'll come out of her shell extra fast if one or two of her kittens come along for the ride. (Panther / Puma)<br/><br/> Fun Fact: Her favorite movie is Lilo & Stitch (live action version)! She's absolutely captivated every time it's on - her own "ohana means family" moment.<br/><br/> About Sissy:<br/><br/>Tiny but mighty - likely under a year old<br/><br/>Still doting on her 10-week-old kittens (they're about 2 lbs and almost ready for homes!)<br/><br/>Prefers a calm home - probably best as the only adult cat (or with one of her babies)<br/><br/>Still unsure about young kids<br/><br/>If you've got the heart to help a sweet mama cat to finish her journey from survivor to snugglebug, Sissy is waiting to meet you! We hope that, if in the right home, she will become a lap cat one day! <br/><br/>All of our rescues are FeLV/FIV tested, given age appropriate vaccines, spayed/neutered, and microchipped! Our adoption fee is $125 no matter age or breed. Visit Alabama's only nonprofit cat lounge, Cattyshack, Inc. Thursday-Saturday! Cattyshack, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
First and foremost, Cattyshack adoptions involve filling out a non-binding application. We really want to process every detail on the app and feel good that we are sending the kitty home with the best possible fit. We also don’t enjoy having a cat returned three days later because you’ve decided scooping a litter box isn’t your thing, or your SO broke up with you and doesn’t want the kitten you gave her as “a gift”. We will do a vet reference to make sure any current animals you own are up to date on vaccines and spayed/neutered, so go ahead and get that done before you even bother with an application. We all want to feel like you are REALLY, TRULY, 100% ABSOLUTELY going to commit 15-20 years to this kitten, or 10+ years to the adult cat your are adopting. That’s a big deal. So thank you in advance for your patience with our adoption process.
