Sissy's Story
Sissy Has Spent Her Life Helping Others... Now It’s Her Turn

Hi, my name is Sissy... aka Morningstar.

I’m 15 months old, and I’ve been waiting over a year for someone to finally say, “She’s the one. She’s coming home with us.”

I was just 3 months old when I came into foster care. Since then, I’ve watched so many kittens come through my foster home, get their families, and leave for their happily ever after.

And do you know what I did while I waited?

I became their big sister. (Hence my name change)

I helped my foster mom socialize them. I played with them. I taught them how to be good little kitties. I gave them confidence and companionship while they waited for their forever families.

I’ve spent the past year helping other kittens get their happily ever after...

But somehow, I’m still waiting for mine.

I truly don’t understand why I keep getting overlooked.

I’m a good girl. I’m sweet. I’m playful. I’m affectionate once I trust you. And I have SO much love to give.

I just need someone who is willing to let me take things at my own pace.

You see, I’m not the kind of kitty who is going to shine in a loud adoption event. Those cages frighten me. So do all the people talking, the barking dogs, and the chaos.

That’s not the real me.

The real me comes out when I feel safe.

Give me a quiet home and a little patience, and you’ll discover a girl who will follow you around the house, meow at you for attention, beg for treats, and try her absolute hardest to convince you that she needs just one more serving of wet food.

And when everything is calm?

I’ll curl up beside you.

I’ll let you pet me.

I’ll snuggle close.

And before you know it, I’ll be asleep beside you, completely content because I finally know I’m home.

I recently had my adult checkup and received my updated rabies and distemper vaccines, so I’m ready for the next chapter of my life. I am negative FIV/FELV and I am Microchipped.

I would do best in a quiet home without dogs, especially because I haven’t had much experience with them. I do okay with other cats, although I have to be honest... those tiny little kittens at my second foster mom’s house can get on my nerves sometimes!

I’m not asking for a perfect family.

I’m asking for MY family.

Someone who will understand that I may need a little time to trust them.

Someone who will look past the shy girl they first meet and wait patiently for the loving, funny, affectionate girl underneath.

Someone who will promise me that I will never again have to wonder if I’m being left behind.

Because once I give you my heart...

I will love you for the rest of my life.

I’m affectionate once I trust you
